Roosevelt 29 Monique Carlson (10) of Roosevelt
shoots a jump shot in the lane over Madison's Sarah Guseh (23) early
in the first quarter. After reading of Roosevelt's plight of
an 0-17 season and the severe lack of spectators following the Lady
'Riders in a column by the Oregonian's Steve Duinn, members of the
Portland community filled the Roosevelt gym to near capacity to
provide support for the team's final home game of the season.
The Lady 'Riders nearly pulled created a magical memory as their
late fourth quarter charge fell short as Madison held out for a
31-29 victory. Photo ©
